Welcome to the page!

Okay, now I know that scrolling and landing on pages and getting lost here and there, and having time stolen from you from the pipes of social media and within website tantrums busts your internal clocks too. I get it!! We are busy! At least we are told we are. We are always searching for something, and in all of those “somethings” we are hoping to find the somethings of substance. I have been there, trust me, and I admit that I am still there. But I have also found my true grounding of substance in the Word Who brought all of creation to be.

His name is Jesus. I like to write about him.

For me, in all of the vast universe it seemed to be difficult to grasp some sort of ground. Always floating, getting caught in nets of chaos, drowning in the water – suffocating under piles of my own excess -trying to cover the dark void within – somehow I managed to find a way to survive. I found the way, I found God! Actually, God found me. I was the one who was hiding all along. God was always there, waiting… for me.

I have been a writer ever since I discovered the smell of broken Crayola sticks when I was in kindergarten. I have always been told that I have a vivid imagination. Armed with pencils, markers, CRAYONS, whatever tool could scratch out a word, I would write with a wild mind. A still, yet to be tainted-by-the-world, mind of a child, with the kind of Freedom-Faith a young wild boy usually has. My sports when I was a kid were Bible drills, writing sermons and preaching to the congregation of stuffed animals in the “church pews,” which consisted of my bedroom floor. I would line up the plush and preach The Word!

(You too have your own story. What generates your light?)

The point is that life is life and it happens. We lose that spark. We allow the darkness to slam its fist into our internal grids and we blow out. We buy into the lie that we aren’t made for anything special; that there is nothing to live for that has that substance we crave, that the world was not made for us and that there is no purpose for us at all.

Job…money…junk…void…dread…repeat.

God dreams big! It is unfathomable. God dreamed of me, made me up, and “knit me in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13) You and I share the same story in that. Our circumstances and our pasts and situations are different, but you and I both started out in the mind of God and we were placed on the pottery wheel of Earth so that we can learn the rhythm of God’s unique plan for each of us and feel our “Earthen vessels” form in His Love. (2 Corinthians 4:7)

It’s easy to be a skeptic, I know. I still have cracks in this clay, but it used to be an ashtray and now it’s a gravy boat, with the goal to be a towering vase filled to the max with The Living Water. (John 4:14)

A Prayer of Saint Francis de Sales

Ah, Sweet Jesus, my Lord, my Savior, and my God, behold me here prostrate before your Majesty as I pledge and consecrate this writing to Your glory. By Your blessing give life to its words so that the souls for whom it has been written may receive from it the sacred inspirations I desire for them, in particular that of imploring your infinite mercy on my behalf to the end that while I point out to others the way of devotion in this world I myself may not be rejected and eternally condemned in the other, but that with them I may forever sing as a canticle of triumph words that with my whole heart I utter in witness of fidelity amid the hazards of this mortal life: LIVE, JESUS! LIVE, JESUS! Yes, Lord Jesus, live and reign in our hearts forever and ever, Amen.
